- What is Rotary
Rotary is a local community leadership organization.
We're made
up of local business, professional and civic leaders and aspiring
leaders.
Our members are of all ages from 18 upwards and include
both men and women.
We are from all walks of life and all financial
capabilities.
We are part of your community.
We meet regularly,
get to know each other, form friendships, and through that, we are able to get
things done in the community in which we all live.

We always welcome
new members to our club but if we're not in your locality there are
nine Rotary Clubs in Kelowna. Some are large, some are small, some meet
for breakfast, some for lunch and some for dinner which means there are plenty
of opportunites to suit any busy schedule - your busy schedule as
well as ours.

- Our Expectations of Members
 We do not expect every
member to be a Club Officer or a Director; we just ask for help with our
projects and attendance at a reasonable number of club meetings; meetings that
are inexpensive and fun!
We genuinely do not expect large monetary
committments & we know that family comes first!
- Where we Meet and
When?
During the Covid-19 Pandemic we are meeting occasionally via
Zoom. Though not ideal this is keeping us in touch with each other and is
helping us to raise and donate funds.

When there was no pandemic Rotary Club of
Kelowna Okanagan Mission met at The Creekside Pub, Lakeshore Road.
We met at
5:30 pm.on the Second and Fourth Mondays of the month and will do
so again as soon as Provincial Health Orders allow us to do do.

Our vision is to engage with, support and enhance our
local community, our Province, our country and the condition of humanity across
the world.

- Service above
Self. As a service club we primarily seek to work for, with or on
behalf of the community either locally, or being a worldwide charity, humanity
in general.
- Wise & Informed
Support.Where there are causes and needs that we can't work for
directly, we try to give supplies and skills to them; wisely and with
sustainability in mind.
- Sustainabilty.We always seek to make a
sustainable difference to people's lives. "Give a man a fish and you feed him
for a day but teach him how to fish and you feed him for life". In our case
it's more like give a man a few bottles of fresh water and you can save his
life, give him a purification kit and you save him for months, dig him a well
and you save him, his family and his village for generations!
- Being Cost
Effective.We are experienced people, in life, in business and in
society. Anyone can waste resources. We strive to be above that sort of failing
especially where we ask society to donate to the causes which we
embrace.
- Above all -
Fun.We like to have fun. Fun is not a just a visit to Disney
World.
Fun is enjoying time with friends and fun is completing a task
together and it's Rotary!!
